ALOR Indonesia

September 2019

The Alor Archipelago is one of Indonesia’s last frontiers. Due to lack of infrastructure, it was extremely hard to access but has become easier in recent years from Jakarta and Bali.

Alor is building a reputation as a top muck diving destination due to the black volcanic sand and rubble. However, hard and soft corals, sponges and anemones are prolific as is the fish life and Alor is home to the amazing Anemone Fields dive site. As there can be strong currents running through the Strait, no guarantees, but Hammerhead, Thresher and reef sharks have been seen as well as Mola Mola and even whales!

Daisy will be conducting workshops centred around macro techniques, underwater landscapes and lighting and Lightroom & Photoshop but most importantly, exploring your own creativity. We will also take advantage of Alor’s beautiful environment to sneak in some dry photography at dusk, dawn and at night.

We will be staying at Alor Divers, an eco resort situated on 400m of sandy beach. The resort has been created to preserve the authentic atmosphere of its surroundings.
